Editorial Reviews
Our parish is currently undergoing clergy transition. As a first-time vestry member and Junior Warden I have found the Resource Guide (along with The Vestry Handbook) to be very edifying. Though not written to be read from cover to cover it can be. Finding the information you need is easily accomplished as there is a Table of Contents on the very first page. The writing is clear and concise. If you have an active and effective Vestry this book may give you ideas to expand your focus. If you have a Vestry which is in need of improvement the Guide offers many ways to assist you in developing. I would suggest that any church or vestry looking to purchase the Guide buy two or three copies so that all vestry members are able to read it, or the areas of interest to them, quickly. This will speed up discussions and/or needed developments. The appendix contains sample vestry member job descriptions, Vestry Covenant and sample meeting agendas.
