yes and no, if you have comprehensive iacnrnuse the vehicle is supposed to be in good condition, in fact a used car that you want to insure, many iacnrnuse's want you to bring it in and they will take pictures of the vehicle and note any dings or cracks before insuring it. Telling them the windshield cracked opening the hood, they might say it happened when the impact drove the hood backwards. It's a catch 22 if they come out to inspect the damage they will see all the other damage and you may or may not be reimbursed, but they will rewrite your policy noting all the other damage.
