Description
Springtime of the Spirit is a faith-filled journey through the weekday Eucharistic readings for the season of Lent. Using the appointed daily readings and collects, John D. Alexander has crafted homilies suitable for use by clergy during daily Eucharistic celebrations for personal use by lay people seeking a deeper Lenten experience, or for group reflection. The homilies found in Springtime of the Spirit are redolent and resonant with rich imagery and thoughtful theological commentary.
Springtime of the Spirit is also an excellent companion to Dawn from on High, John D. Alexander's collection of Eucharistic homilies for the weekdays of Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany, also available from Forward Movement.
John D. Alexander has been rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Providence, Rhode Island, since 2000. He previously served parishes in Wayne, Pennsylvania, and Staten Island, New York. He currently serves as superior of the American Region of the Society of Mary, an international devotional society in the Anglo-Catholic tradition.
